hi I'm writing this blog for my class.
I feel that the front line video about growing up on the Internet was way too negative about the entire issue. First off they mainly focus on the negative aspects of the Internet without even looking at the positive, like when they say its used as tool for cheating, but its also used as a study guide, to get more information on a subject or much more. obviously there are plenty of danger about what people put on the Internet and how it perceived by other people and you have to be careful for your future, but a lot of it was overkill on that subject. One thing i did agree on however, is that the Internet is becoming a major tool in bullying which is definitely wrong.
social networking for teenagers a way to express themselves with out being judged and if they didn't have tat outlet where would they turn? furthermore as with the Second Life example, people can do things they never could in real life online, and it can be used as a tool for good rather than wrong doings.
furthermore the Internet is a major way of communication. i know that i wouldn't be able to talk to half of my friends who are away at other colleges without the Internet.
